Our training method

R.A.C.E.

Repetition:
Here at the Hit Pit, we believe that the best way to learn something is to do it. And then do it again. And do it again. And again. You get the idea. Muscle memory is the only way to insure that when you need it, you will have it. With that mentality, we try very hard to insure that every move gets the attention that it deserves. It doesn’t help you to learn multiple moves in the same session if you can’t properly execute any of them. Our practices are drill focused with varying levels of intensity.

Attention:
“If the student hasn’t learned, the teacher hasn’t taught.” You need more than casual instruction. The instructor has to have an interest in showing the moves to a level that you retain what was taught. That means showing all parts of the move and not skimping on the details. That also means that the instructors have to be available to as many students as possible. Every athlete has specific skills and weaknesses. Our job at the Hit Pit is to find those points and help develop the workouts and training regiments around you.

Cardio:
Very few things in the fight game can be controlled before and during the match. Your cardio though, can be. In fact, it should be. There is no reason to not have the gas to fight at your max. If you don’t have the energy to fight, then it won’t matter what your skills are. With that said, it is a focus of the Hit Pit that every training session has an intense amount of cardiovascular training. Don’t be caught unprepared! Cardio is up to you.

Environment:
We surround ourselves with the fight game. From the primary instructors that we have, to all the contributing instructors that come in; everyone is involved in relating the subject matter to MMA. We have coaches from all sorts of backgrounds, and that is on purpose. You need instruction in wrestling, judo, submission grappling, boxing, and muy Thai to have a rudimentary grasp of the game. We supply an environment where all those types of competitors and coaches are available. Nothing beats asking the boxers to come down and spar with you when you want to work on some quality standup, etc. MMA is a unique sport and requires a specific environment of training to make it all come together.
