CLASS LEVELS
Please note: for some students, we will need to evaluate your abilities before we can assign you to a class. This usually takes 2-3 practices. Plan on showing up to the Intro class, and if needed; we will send you to a harder class.
Intro to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Class
In this class you will learn the basics of MMA. You will be instructed on the terminology, the positions, basic concepts, and beginner’s fitness workouts. The focus in this class is to get you familiar enough with the style of MMA that you can competently workout in the Intermediate MMA class. This class with be concept focused and laid back. The workouts WILL NOT be too rigorous. Come in with a good attitude and get a taste of what MMA has to offer. You can do fine in this class even if you are not in top shape. Don't be intimidated, come on in and we will help you get back to where you want to be.
MMA Class
This class is for those who have either passed the “Intro to MMA” class or are already familiar with the concepts of MMA. This class is cardio focused. Aspects of this class will include; striking, submissions, takedowns, and lots of intense cardio fitness routines. We will cover techniques, lots of muscle memory drills, light to heavy sparring, and tactics/strategy in preparation for a fight. Weight cutting techniques as well as mental preparation are also part of this level of instruction. You do not have to want to compete to be in this class, but be prepared to have more intense workouts with sparring available.
Advanced/Competition MMA Class
This is the class for the MMA competitor. To get to this class, you need to be a fighter or want to become a fighter. The goal of the Advanced MMA class is to offer good sparring practice of both Boxing and MMA for the athlete that wants to compete. The Advanced MMA class is not for everyone. It is designed for the athlete that wants to fight in competition, and knows how to train safely with or without guidance.
